My son has a 98 dodge ram 1500, and was driving home and the truck just shut off on the interstate. Have checked started, battery and all fuses and relays and all check out good, fuel pump is also good. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this may be or what to check?

Are you sure you are getting both fuel and spark to the engine?

Take a good spark plug (it could be from your lawn mower) and remove one of the spark plug wires from the engine. Plug it into the extra plug and lay the steel part of the plug on a steel part of the engine so it grounds. Now have a helper crank the engine while you watch the end of the spark plug for spark. You should be able to see it. If it is strong, it will be blue in color. Orange /white is a weak spark.

Let me know if you have other questions, and here is a how to video for checking for fuel pressure. You hear the pump, but who knows what it is producing.

Let me know what you find.
