1998 Dodge Ram no start

I bought a 1998 dodge ram 3.9, it needed an altenator and I replaced it, Then started the truck it ran for about 3 min and shut off. I spray quit start but didn't help, I checked for spark there was none switched the asd relay but no go. I replaced the coil still no spark. Then I replaced the pickup coil still nothing. The rotor turns, I don't know how to check the crank sencor if thats what I need to check, Please help. Thanks Dave
