Starts good at first if you shut off will not start till accelerator is pushed all the way to the floor and cranked over numerous times acts like engine is flooded

Has the check engine light come on? It sounds like a bad temp sensor. LEt me know.

Check engine light is on shows#34 according to haynes repair manual is a open or shorted condition detected in the speed control vacumn or vent solenoid circuits. Temp sensor works shows temp of engine replaced last summer. The electrical connection on top of temp sensor was damaged when sensor was replaced not too tight on top of sensor but temp guage still works in truck thank you for your help I am retired and everything helps alk_48045@yahoo. Com note this is a5.9 v/8
