1995 Dodge Ram truck wont go into 5th gear or reverse

I can shift into every gear with no problem but I can't shift into 5th or go into reverse.

With the engine off, can you shift into R and 5th?

With the engine off I can shift into 5th but not reverse. But when I turn the engine on it wont move in 5th.

I hate to say it, but it sounds like there is internal damage to the transmission. My guess is a fork has broken or something has come loose. If you can't shift it with the engine off, it must be internal unless there is a problem with the linkage.
