Just replaced mechanical fuel pump, fuel filter and battery on my truck. Engine turns over fine now but will not fire. When I spray starter fluid into carb it starts just fine but dies out after fluid is burned. Tried to prime carb by putting about a 1/4 cup of gas in carb and same thing. Engine will start but dies after fuel is burned. Is there something I am overlooking? Another fuel filter inline? I'm stumped. I have a 318 V8 2 barrel.

Engine is a 318 2 barrel. Not an EFI system. Still starving for fuel. Filter and fuel pump has been replaced
