What is the best way to install plugs and wires in my 2000 dodge neon. It has 84,000 miles on it and has been idling at a very low rpm (800and lower). I was told by one of the mechanics at a local shop this may help adjust the idle.

I would replace the pcv valve first. It only cost a few bucks. If it is clogged the motor can't get the proper air flow and will idle slower. Also check your air filter.

Replace the plugs with cheapo champion plugs. Believe it or not the neons run best on those.
We tried putting bosch platinums in our neon and it didn't like that too much we switched to champions and it idled like a dream
