Has started to happen progressively over 3 weeks, now worsen. Car starts normally and goes to destination. When engine is warm, it turns over but is staving for fuel or air. To get it started, you need to apply foot to gas pedal and rev it up. Must keep foot on pedal to keep rpm's up at 1000, otherwise when idle falls below 800rpm, car stalls. Was able to return home by keeping rev up, otherwise it will stall. After parking the car, let foot off accelerator and the car stalled.

What can I check to solve this repair?

This is common when you have a vacuum leak or the throttle bore needs to be serviced here are three guides to go over when fixing the problem.

The check engine light did not come on. The throttle body solenoid is hanging up, which causes intermittent shutdown at low idle. When unplugging the power to it, the car stalls. Cleaned out the inside chamber with brake cleaner and lubricated with dry WD-40. Works again, will keep eye on it, so far so good. No problems since.

Is the idle air control valve the same as the throttle body air intake?

The IAC is mounted on the throttle body. The air intake includes your air filter, induction tube.

Let me know if things change.
