When in gear and traveling engine noise is very loud in passenger cabin. The exhaust is not the noise. When not in gear and engine is revved noise is not prevalent.
When traveling and turning or going over bumps the noise is interrupted.

Hi VITAMAN4. Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a noisy front wheel bearing. On a few cars, you can tell by the sound getting louder or quieter when turning slightly such as when changing lanes. On most cars with the bolt-on style bearing assembly, it can be impossible to tell, even by where the sound appears to be coming from, unless you listen underneath with a stethoscope while running it in gear and hoisted up.

Bearing noise will remain constant when you CAREFULLY shift into neutral while coasting at highway speeds. Engine / exhaust noise will die down when you do that.
