Shakes or Wobbles problem
1996 Dodge Neon 107522 miles

I am having a car problem that my local mechanics are having a hard time trying to figure out what could be causing my car problem. First my check engine light stays on, it is reading fuel system too lean in fuel banks 1 and 2. I only get gas from Shell gas stations. I have had a new fuel pump installed, fuel system cleaned, new spark plug wires and plugs installed. They have put in parts to see if it the check engine light goes out, nothing changes. Now my car jumps and jerks while driving, it reads that it had 55 miss fires. The mechanics worked on my car all day and had to keep it over night. They replaced the crank position sensor and cam position sensor, it took care of the jump and jerks for a few days now it is back to the same way again. Now they are focused on the timing belt because of the miles on my car. But will fixing the timing belt fix the jumps and jerks? This car problem is ongoing is ther any hope for my car. The check engine light has been on for a few months now, even after being reset few times before. I am at witts end with worry and bills for my car and I am tired of seeing the check engine light constantly on reminding me of car repairs that don't seem to fix an underlining problem. Help, please.

I have a 1997 Dodge Neon and my check engine light has been on for more than a year. It's a short it stays on when nothing is wrong.I've seen several Neons and almost all have the check engine light short. My car used to jerk around and such and I changed spark plugs and wires. Also my car used to misfire and the fix was the new spark plug wires.
