Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Automatic 105000 miles

I own a 2.7 v6 2002 dodge intrepid. I replaced the engine because it was running hot. I also replaced the engine control module but sometimes at a light or stopped for a period of time it falls dead. It starts back up with no hesitation. Why might it do this?

When the engine was installed the crankshaft sensor may have touched the transmission too hard if it was in the wrong place at the wrong time, I'm just guessing. Why not check the fault code your PCM may have stored when this happens, it should keep this code in it's memory for over 200 engine starts before it clears if the problem were to go away. The wiring may have been pinched in on the installation or it could be something else, that is why the fault codes are part of todays diagnostics. Ok
Have the engine computer scanned with a scan tool.
