Ok so I am a woman and not very good at maintaining my oil. I was driving home and my car cut off while I was driving. It has never done that before. When I drive, even after oil changes, the exhaust has the white colored smoke, especially when I hit the gas harder. The car had been low on oil for a while so I added 2 quarts until tomorrow, when I can get the oil changed, and it still didnt start. I got a jump and let the battery charge for about 10 minutes or so and it finally started with a little noise while starting. Could this be because the battery is bad or maybe because the oil is so low and it just needs time for the oil to run through the lines?

Does the white smoke always come out the exhaust? Has the coolant level been getting low?

The white smoke usually indicates a bad head gasket. If coolant gets into the combustion chamber, it burns white.

As far as the oil, just because it was low (not empty) shouldn't have caused the engine to not start.

Let me know about the smoke.
