Engine Cooling problem
1997 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive 166, 00 miles

gentlemen I need your help please. My sisters 97 intrepid overheats. Fan will not come on, I found the fuse was blown. I jumpered the fuse and still nothing. When I un-plugged the ect sensor fan came on. Replaced the ect sensor and still the same, no fan. Any help please?

Have you tested the cooling fan relay(s)? Will the fan come on with the A/C switched to High?

I checked the fuse box again and was not getting power. Swapped the relays, jumped the fuse and the fan came on. However I noticed that after about a minute, the jumper wire got VERY hot so I pulled it. The ac does not work, so that shouldn't be an issue. Thanks.

I think I have a short somewhere, when I pull the relay and reset it, fan comes on, however j-wire gets very hot. Can someone at least post a wiring diagram? Please?
