Hello Thanks for your time in advance. As of yesterday I have been having problem with the acceleration of my vehicle. It seems as if when I hit roughly between 15-20mph it tends to stall at that point. No matter how hard I push on the gas it will rev up to over 3, 00 rpm's then very slowly will pick up 1mph or so until it hesitates and kicks into the next gear and then all is fine until I slow down and it does it again. It seems like it is having trouble swithing gears or something. I have had an oil change within the last month(approx. 1,100miles), full tune up(spark plugs wires and all), the coolant system done, and the fuel injection system done 4months ago. So I dont believe it can be related to these things.

Any check engine light when this happens? If so have the PCM scanned fo rcodes, they will help determine the cause. Also need to verify good fuel pressure

Did they use OE parts in the tune up? was it doing this prior to being tuned?

No there is no check engine light, and this is a list of the parts used in the tune up:

Champion spark plugs (Iridium)
Purolator Air Filter
Purolator PCV valve
BWD AUTOMOTIVE distributor cap
BWD AUTOMOTIVE rotor
BWD AUTOMOTIVE tailor magnetic core wires

Is it possible that the problem is not an engine problem and is a transmission problem or something else?

Its possible, but usually a trans will hold gears too long or slip, slide in between gears. Need to verify mechanical things like fuel pressure if there is no check engine light.

To me thats what it feels like. It feels like thecar isnt switching gears properly. The engines revs up fine, but the acceleration ceases at around 15-20 mph until the engine revs to between 3,000-4,000 rpm then it'll jump into gear and start to accelerate in a jerking motion

May need to be driven with a scan tool on it so that all parameters can be monitored in hopes of seeing what is or isnt happening. What happens if you manually shift it through the gears?

Hello,

I am having the same problem with my 98 durango.
Took it to a trans place and they could not find anything wrong with the transmission said it is in great shape for a dodge transmission. We have replaced the front oxygen sensor, the idle control sensor and the throttle position sensor. None have helped the problem; however, my a/c sure does work better. Going to replace the rear oxygen sensor next. No codes come up so the mechanics I have taken it to just keep giving me a list of items to try.
