A few days ago my car began leaking coolant after my boyfriend turned on the air and left it on. I put some 50/50 in and it stopped leaking. I just want to know if there is possibly a major problem with the cooling system and if I need to take to a mechanic since my funds are low?

When was the last cooling system flush and fill? Should be done at the very least every other fall, With more aluminum in the engines now, every fall is better. If all parts are in good working order, and they include, waterpump, thermostat, hoses, radiator, and heater core, do the flush and then pressure test the system with water, Make sure the cooling fan(s) are working! If they are electric, it should start as soon as the a/c is turned on!
