1998 Dodge Durango noise

When I accelerate to gain speed or travel uphill, there is a rattling like noise sounds like its coming from the engine, not exhaust.

With the info recieved from you there could be 900 things it could be. Take it to a mechanic for a test drive and see what they say. It could be a fuel injection problem, PCV problem, Loose components, etc.
