I own 99 Dodge Dakota SLT with the V8 Magnum. Recently my alternator went bad, and while jump starting it there was a power surge. The speakers hummed loudly. When I shut off the stereo and restarted the vehicle the stock CD player would not stay on. I could not hear anything through the speakers. I replaced the stereo with a Kenwood KRC S-305. Kenwood functions perfectly except no sound. Is there a stock amplifier or something else that might have burned out with the power surge?
