What does it take to fix 2002 Dodge Dakota 4x4 4.9L 8Cylinder with a TCC circuit malfunction code P0740 I have tried to reset the memory to possibly clear the error but it did not so it is a Hard Code? How much will it cost?

Dunno the cost it varies with location could be caused by one of the following: Defective Torque Converter Lockup Solenoid, Defective Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, Defective Torque Converter Clutch, Defective Valve Body, Dirty transmission fluid that restricts the hydraulic passages

So it could be something very small or very big my mechanic seems to think it might be that not the correct amount of pressure is getting to the trans but he is going to look at it tomorrow to check it all out just to make sure he doesn't have to replace the entire trans cause he said brand new with tax I m looking at 2461.00.
