2002 Dodge Dakota Power Door Locks Not Working

2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab - Power door locks now working intermittently. First thing in AM, doors open with key fob. After getting to destination, have to hit button 4-5 times to get doors to unlock. Same result if I use inside unlock button. Then when try to lock, truck honks but no doors lock. Doors do lock at 15 mph. Need some advice.

Have you ever replaced the battery in the fob?

Yes. The confusing thing is that it also works intermittently with the door lock button on the door. So it must be in the locking system itself but I can't figure out where.

You have a short somewhere. I would remove the main switch on the driver's door and check the switch and wiring. At least that is where I would start.
