2001 Dodge Dakota changing out water pump. How to remove o

2001 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Automatic 90,000 miles

cannot remove old pump. Please instruct. Also, I do not know wheel drive type. My husband is having trouble trying to remove the old water pump, but he is not here at the present. He could use your help though.
