Lately, it seems as though my starter may be failing. I turn the key and hear a click, to then try it again, and again, before it finally works. On occasion the truck starts, without a problem. So I suppose the battery (which is new within 2 yrs) is fine. I am still on the original clutch. Plus, a month ago my mechanic checked the starter, and told me that it's working fine.
So, is this sounding like a problem with the starter? Or is it possible that there's a problem with the clutch, and I can't push the clutch down far enough to ignite the engine?
Thanks for your answer.

It sounds like your starter is failing even though it was checked two months ago its slowly gettin worse. But before you buy a new one or retest it. Check all connections. Corrosion or loose connections can cause the same problems.
