1997 Dodge Dakota V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Occaisionaly the truck will not start. The starter does notrun or engage. I will jiggle the steering wheel and the shift lever and even try starting in neutral. There does not seem to be a pattern? After multipl attempts to start. The next time I get in to go it starts fine. Battery and alternator are fine.

I need you to check something. WHen this happens, I need you to have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for voltage to the smaller wire on the starter. You should get 12+ volts when the key is in the start position. If it doesn't, let me know.

Regardless, let me know what you find.
