Electrical problem
1994 Dodge Dakota V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 130K miles

Truck has been sitting for some time. The wipers do not work, but when you bump it to wash the will work. Also the blower motor is not working. I checked all fuses, they are fine. I also checked the blower resistor in the firewall, it is ok. Where do I go next. I suspect mice, as the truck has been sitting for 8 months. When I attpemted to start it the batter was flat dead. It is holding a charge now.

Hello, with the key on, did you check for voltage at the fuse circuit in question, blower motor? That fuse circuit goes hot, when you turn on the key. The dark green wire at the blower motor is voltage, hot all the time with key on. The black wire is ground, the blower speeds are controlled on the ground circuit through the resistor and heater control switch. A lot of system, any more, are controlled by the ground circuit. Yes, you need voltage, but, without ground, it won't work.

No I did not check for voltage, I will have to pick up a meter, or a test light. Am I looking at the same scenario for the wipers as well, most likley yes. I will get back to you once I test voltage.

The wipers are working now, I kind of jiggled the stalk around, spund it to HI and pushed in the end like I wanted to wash, then the HI setting worked. I did the same thing for LO and now LO wipers work, as do the delay wipers. Bad contacts in the stalk? No luck with the blower motor yet.
