I have an V8 360 out of a 1987 Ramcharger, a 1992 magnum head, a edelbrock rpm air gap intake manifold, and a 600cfm holley carb w/ electric choke.

. Ok on with the question

I am having excessive fuel pressure on my truck, which is causing the carburetor to flood when I push on the brakes. I have checked the fuel pressure regulator and it is fine. I have the mallory 4309 with the adjustment screw all the way out pressure is supposed to be 3 psi. It is about 8 psi. So to correct the problem I attached a 1/2" Fuel line to the return line on the regulator and then clamped it onto the metal fuel line under the truck.

My question is when I did that I noticed that the old fuel line was connected to a small metal gas line. This model truck used to be Fuel Injected. Should the Return line be metal because after I did that the fuel pressure did not really change from what it was before. Already verified w two gages. If you can think of any other ways to lower fuel pressure, please reply

Thanks for your time

The fuel pump is made to supply high pressure, and maybe you can try to find a low pressure fuel pressure regulator some how, other then that I wouldnt know of anyway to decrease it, you could put a smaller diameter line to get less volume and that might help you.

The return lines are usually metal then the splice into a rubber line.

I still have my stock fuel filter on there for the fuel injection I think thats the problem. Maybe I need to put a more restrictive fuel filter. After I replaced the clogged one the pressure drastically increased

Does anyone know about what micron filter to get
