My truck takes off in 2nd cuz 1st gear is out. Is there anyway 1st gear in a transmission can be fixed instead of replacing your whole transmission?

Yeah everything runs perfect except 1st gear

I can drop it down in first and it starts to take off then stops and the truck dies. But in just drive it runs great except for about 10 sec 0 to 60
