Whenever I make a turn to the right my engine tries to stall. If I pump the gas while turning I can sometimes keep it running otherwise I have to put in neutral start it and pop into drive again. Thought it was low on gas but when I put 1/4 tank in it seemed to get worse. Any suggestions?

Hi:

This is a tough question to answer. First, it could be an electrical problem. (When you turn, a wire moves or grounds.) Is there a check engine light coming on?

Joe,
No on the check engine light. I plan on putting it up on a hoist this weekend and taking a look at it. Think it could be the fuel filter or float in the gas tank?

Anything is possible. To me, however, it sounds like it's electrical. When you have it in the air, check for broken or skinned wires. I feel (without looking at it) that something shorting out when you make a turn. Don't just check the fuel system, look under the hood at the ignition system (coil, distributor.)

Let me know what you find.
