when I turn off the key the engine wants to stay running. This is a new crate motor and new wiring harness, also the tach is not working.

I own a 1973 model Check to see if the ignition accuator rod is actully turning off the motor it connects to a slide switch on the collum. It has to go to the middle of the switch to shut off
