I was just wondering if it is normal for a 3.5L V6 to consume a quart of motor oil roughly every 2,000 miles. Please note that I am a little heavy on the gas pedal !

Any brand new engine does 90% of its break in during the first 20 minutes of it's startup. I have seen many oil consumption problems and never saw a car that got better oil use than your getting now on 1 quart of oil. 1200 miles or less per quart is considered on the high side. Your engine is doing fine. Especially with your driving bhabits. You may be putting more of a strain on other items but so far, better than normal oil consumption. I would be happy to get your engine running my car. Keep up the good inspection, maintenance and try and remember the strain that initial inertia from 0mph is putting all your suspension and transmissiion. OK I know how tough it is to do a slow acceleration in a rush situation. Be safe and have a good day.
