Hello Gentlemen: Since I had my tranni rebuilt on my Caravan, I have felt a slight rumble when driving at low speeds coasting downhill at 12, 24 & 30 mph. Once I pass these speeds, the rumble goes away. Other than that, it shifts smoothly and makes no noises even when the rumbling. It makes no difference whether the engine is warm or cold and this rumble only started after the tranni was rebuilt. Your expertise would be most appreciated.

It sounds axle related / CV joint / or axle bearing. Have them checked for play. Also, have the trans and engine mounts checked for play or a colapsed rubber mount that is designed to prevent you from feeling vibration. Considering you just had the trans redone, have you spoken with the shop that did the work? Have they given any ideas?

Let me know.

Thanks for the quick reply. The tranni shop said to bring it back in so they could have a look as it has a 1 year warranty. Being close to Xmas, I expect store closures as this was an independent shop doing warranty work. I really appreciate the extra info you have provided. Merry Christmas!

Turned out what I thought was a poor tranni rebuild was actually a clogged fuel filter. It was so plugged up that the van was shaking at certain speeds. My van is now vibration free and the bill was nice and low just in time for Xmas.

Hi:
Wow, I didn't realize it was the engine missing. Regardless, it's great news. Let us know in the future if you have questions, and Merry Christmas.
