My 98 dodge caravan has 109,000 miles. It also has a blown head gasket. My mechanic tells me that because of the angle the engine is sitting that it must be pulled to replace this gasket. My question is what else is getting ready to fail that will require the engine to be pulled(water pump, timing belt, etc.)? I would like to replace anything else at this time that is likely to be getting worn out so that I won't have to have the engine pulled again any time in the near future.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer,
Ez

Hi, it would help to know what engine you have! That van was offered with mitsu and chrysler engines. Four cylinder and V6. There are lots of things to consider if it is a V6. Valve cover gaskets, sparkplugs(the rear side is hard to get to)! Oil pan removing cleaning and new gasket. All this boils down to is how long you are going to keep it. Post back with more info, it helps the techs to help you.

Have a great day. Vandragon
