Engine Performance problem
1996 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Automatic 116 miles

I would like to keep my Dodge Caravan for another year. Therefore, I would like to maintain it in the best condition. Considering how old is the van and its mileage, what type of services should I be seeking now on a regular basis to keep it safe and running?

Hi:
The mileage isn't too bad. The engine will last a lot longer as long as you keep it serviced. If you still have the original trans, that is another issue. They seem to start having problems around this time. However, that doesn't mean you will.

As far as maintenance, check out the maintenance schedule site on this page under popular site links. Also, there should be specific info in the owner's manual. Honestly, if you took care of it, there is still a lot of life in it.
