How do you know if the problem your are having is your ignition switch or ignition coil?

I have to turn the key several times to get vehicle to start.

Hello,

Ok, lets make sure I understand.

You have to turn the key to the on/start position then off and back a few times before the vehicle will turn over and start correct?

If this is so then it could be your starter is shorted.

Go by your local part store and have them check the battery and starting system.
