1988 Dodge Caravan Car wont start

I stopped to get gas, turned the van off. When I got back in to start it, the key turned to the start position all gages, lights, and radio came on but the van did nothing else. The engine did not turn or crank it made no sound. It was towed home and the same thing happens turn the key interior acts normal.(Nothing with the engine)

I would check the starter as a 1st step
make sure its in park E brake is on
block the tires front and back
check for power at the starter terminal
if yes jump the two terminals
if cranks starter is ok
if no activities replace the starter
