Do I need a new transmission?

Transmission fluid is leaking badly. I was driving it home and heard a loud sound pulled over and red fluid was coming out from up under the truck and when I tried to pull off it I put it in drive and reverse it wouldn't move.

It sounds like something broke; can you see where the fluid is coming from? Up by the torque converter maybe? If you can take a short video and upload it in your response, I can give you a better idea of what's going on. In the meantime, this guide can help:
