Difficult to shift

Clutch not slipping but will not shift into first or reverse without shutting off engine.

Sounds like a bad clutch or hydraulics are not working if you have hydraulic clutch. May be a bent fork, or throw out bearing going through pressure plate.

That is what I was afraid of, worn pressure plate throw out bearing. Thank you that helps a lot.
