I went over, it was dark, he had one side, I had the other, I asked him to make sure they were right, he said they were, but sure enough there was a spark shower. Connection was only made for a second. Fixed the wires, my car still started, got him going, everything seemed kosher, I went home.
In retrospect, some strange things started happening, that I just assumed were issues with an older car that I was not used to or familiar with.
That week or the next, there was an instance or two where I either was not shifting right or getting enough power, but they passed and did not repeat.
The next two weeks, the back hatch started opening intermittently.
About two weeks ago I was driving, and my battery light came on, and my car slowly quit running. Could not get it going again, assumed alternator, assumed because it was old, and we had a super cold snap.
But now I am wondering if it was from the jump.
Anyone have thoughts on ECU damage from reversed cables starting small and slowly escalating?
Anything at all really.
