I found the Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor behind the thermostat housing. However, the two wires going to the plug are chewed through by mice right at the plug and I cannot find the wire that it connected to. I’m going to buy a new wire connector, but where exactly does it go? Any specific picture of where the wire connector goes would be great because I’ll have to find it to connect the wires from the connector to the wire that links to the PCM. Thanks. That white plug is the connector. Also, apologies for the picture rotation this website put it sideways.

Hi,

The yellow wire with a light green tracer goes to the PCM (right side of engine compartment). The gray wire with a red tracer joins with other sensors. See the attached pics.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks for the info and diagram. I am going to take a look at the PCM and DPFE to trace the wires. I will let you know how it goes after I am able to work on it today.

The part is now on the way. I did some digging around and found those wires hidden under electrical tape from the previous owner. Just to be sure I do not put the wires in the wrong slots on the connector to the sensor, which colored wire is on the left and the right of the connector for sensor? Yellow/green right gray/red left? I see it on the diagram but just want to clarify before I put everything back together.

Interestingly, there is no pin location info. Was there anything left on the old plug? To be honest, all it does to function is produce resistance based on temperature. I don't think it would even matter simply because power runs directly through it and resistance would be the same in either direction.

Let me know.

Unfortunately no, there was nothing left on the old plug. I was wondering the same thing, if it even mattered which side or not. I’ll just go off the diagram to be safe. Will let you know how it goes after I get the part today and get everything back together now that the part should arrive.

Update: Solved the issue. Thanks for your help! Just to give the info, I did follow the wiring diagram so yellow/green right and gray/red left and worked like a charm. Used some wire holders and crimped them down. Covered them up good as to prevent corrosion.
