CV axle replacement

When I drive, I have to keep the steering wheel slightly to the left, otherwise it starts to shake and I hear a knocking sound. Could this be my CV joint? I went under and the left seems solid, but the right side I can move it left and right a couple inches. Is it the CV joint? Or something else?

Yes, it sounds like the CV joint is worn out.

I would replace the entire axle assembly. They are reasonable in price these days. I attached the procedure for you below.

I also attached the axle shaft from Rock Auto for you to view.
