CV axle replacement

It is time to replace the CV axles on my vehicle listed above I Touring. I can hear the clicking when going in reverse and there seems to be a vibration that is not caused by an imbalance of the tires at high speeds. When replacing the CV axle, what else will I need to replace, and do you have any recommendations as to what else I should replace when doing this work? I love this car and intend on keeping it for quite a while. Thank you in advance. Zoom, zoom.

Hello,

There are no certain items that will need to be replaced when you are changing the CV axle. It will all depend on the overall condition of other suspension components.
Do an inspection of the tie rod ends, control arm bushings and other joints and check for excess play.

So, before I dive headfirst into this I just want to make sure I am replacing the right part. When I put the car in reverse and back up with the wheels turned I hear clicking. I was always told that was the CV joint and it needed repair/replacement. Is that correct? Thank you.

Yes, the clicking noise is typically due to bad CV axle. Many times the CV boot will break and allow dirt and debris to enter the system, which is usually what creates the clicking noise.
