My cruise control does not seem to want to work. It comes on and soon as I go past five mph it cuts back off and it does not work unless I come to a complete stop and do the same thing again. What could it be?

This could be a number of things but the way we are going to have to find out what it is, is to first check for codes. Here is the guide that will help with this:

Once we know if there are codes, then we can start with checking what the PCM is seeing when you are pressing the steering control buttons. More then likely the PCM is shutting it off once the vehicle speed is getting above 5 MPH. The way we need to do this is with a scan tool. You will see in the PCM that the cruise input is on when you are at a stop but then shutting off when you get up to this speed. If that is the case, then I suspect the front control module is at fault and is telling the PCM to shut it off.

Below is the process on how to replace the FCM. Let us know what you find and we can go from there. Thanks
