Had an error code for the crankshaft position sensor. I replaced it but it did not fix the problem. Replaced it again along with the harmonic balancer. This solved the problem and the check engine light went off and it starts first try, every time. However, now there is gas getting into the oil. I had just recently found out about the relearn procedure. Could this be the cause of the gas in the oil? If so then would having the procedure done now correct it or is the damage already done by missing this step originally?

Hello,

The Crankshaft Position Sensor[CKP] has nothing to do with gas getting into the oil. The only way that I could see this happening would be to have either a blown head gasket, cracked engine block, or a cracked cylinder head and then having a dead misfire that would allow the air;fuel mixture to enter into an oil galley. I would recommend doing a compression test on your vehicle to determine if and where your vehicle's engine is loosing compression at. Here is a link below explaining how to do this:

Please go through this guide and report back with what you find out and we can go from there.

Thanks,
Alex
