The car (diesel) will crank but just will not start. It started by stalling especially when trying to overtake.

Hello,
It sounds like the crankshaft angle sensor has gone out. Lets plug a scanner in that can see data then crank the engine over to see if the computer is getting a signal. Here is a guide to help us get started:
