After the car sits for one to two days it will start and run one time. Can hear the fuel pump working, put a new relay in the fuel pump space. After market security disconnected. It acts like it will almost run maybe a second or two, but like it is out of gas and it has gas for sure.

When the car does not start with the key in the run position is the security light on solid or flashing on the dash? Also, have you checked for codes in the computer yet?

The security light does not blink, it is on solid. Also, door locks etc, all continue to work with the key on. Thanks for your continuing help with this.

If the security light is on solid when it will not start then the security system is keeping it from starting it is disabling the fuel injectors. The nest thing to do is have the body control module scanned for codes get the exact code numbers not code descriptions. It will take a professional scan tool to do that. You could have a bad pass lock sensor which is part of the steering lock housing.

Hi I did go get a scanner 100.00 from auto zone as california won't allow them to rent them anymore.I have never used one before but it said OEM enhanced live data is not supported by this vehicle. Also said Class 2 Data Link Malfunction. U1000 (1/44 Not Passed S C ). I think I'll start at the very beginning about a month ago one day all my warning lights started reading wrong- like out of gas, overheating to the top, I went to an electrical shop he said it was the after market security, that they do a couple a week-he discounted it or removed it? And came to me and said it didn't fix the problem-maybe in the original factory security in the computer. It drove well so I just keep driving it like that for a few weeks and the gauges would change at will. I actually was on my way to auto zone to get a scanner check from them, turned it off before I had got there and cranked good and like tried to start ( like run a second or two) but would not start, towed it home. Since than I've tried alot, but what I wonder about is during this time of no start it started up one time I drove it around my house etc. Ran great until I turned it off and has not started again since. It has gas, spark to the plugs, can hear fuel pump come on and humm. It still will sometimes run like a second and I give it alot of gas but won't keep running. I have many, many times did all the security tricks, now mostly the security light comes on solid, in about 2 or 3 seconds it goes off and other warning lights go off with it. I believe my friend that first checked everything said injectors won't getting anything. I did replace the fuel pump relay and check the fuses.I was told it is most likely a body control module but since they are rather expensive I really wanted your opinion- especially since it started once and almost acts like it's going to start but not getting gas. Thank you alot for your help-Desert Lady

Hi, thanks for responding. The gas gauge and the temp gauge do not work. I returned the scanner. I just went out to check the gauges right now after I got your message and I can't believe it the car started, however the security light is solid and staying on and little square to the right of it with a down arrow and like a little river under it stays on, airbag light staying on and showing out of gas, but there is gas in it. It has always sat for quite a long time when it starts like this. I've left it running to charge the battery and cause it sounds so good-ha. Thank you so much for your help. Desert Lady

Thank you so very much for all your help. Actually the car is always starting now but gas gauge, temp gauge and security light all still just staying on. Will a body control module fix that? Is that what controls all those dash lights? Thanks again, your help has been immeasurable to me. I have never worked on my own car before and am 75 yrs. And did not have money to have a a very expensive mechanic maybe? Fix it. So thank you so very, very much.

Yeah a body control module controls those gauges and the security system on the car. Thats why I say it sounds like a bad body control module. They have a high failure rate. They used to have a person on eBay that repaired them.
