I was driving home from work on the freeway and the car just shut off. It is a 1998 zx2. I sat there for fifteen minutes trying to start it to no avail. Then all of a sudden it started again and I jumped back on the freeway. About two miles down the road I lost all power and it shut off again never to restart. I got it towed home and when cranking it sounded like it did not have any compression. I checked spark and it was really weak and did not fire all the time. Fuel pressure is at 28 lbs. Timing belt is good. Will not even fire or stumble on starting fluid. Do not have much money so I need to fix this one myself. Any suggestions?

Scan for codes first and check fuel pressure with a gauge. 28 psi sounds low. auto parts rent it. See link.

I already did the code was P0193, fuel rail pressure sensor input voltage high. My fuel gauge reads 28 lbs on the dot and holds for a long time.

Hey BERICKSON,

I have seen on this car if you have the wrong weight motor oil it will over pump the lifters which will hold the valves open. Try changing the oil to a lighter weight.

Let me know how it goes,

Best, Ken
