It has been sitting a year, was throwing a fuel filter code. I replaced the fuel filter and all the fluids before we tried to crank it. It would crank but not start. No codes anymore. Replaced the spark plugs and wires. Now it will start for a few seconds, then backfire and stop.

Hello,

Have you checked the fuel in the fuel tank? Sometimes when a vehicle has been sitting for a while, water can leak into the fuel tank or sometimes the fuel will turn into a varnishy like substance that will gum up the fuel lines and injectors. Check the fuel and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex

When I dropped the tank and replaced the fuel pump and filter, I thoroughly cleaned the tank and inspected it before putting new gas in. All pressure to engine from tank is good as well.

Hello,

Okay, can you double check that the spark plug wires are correctly routed to the right cylinders? I have included a diagram of the spark plug wire routing for your vehicle in the diagrams down below. Please double check the spark plug wires and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Thanks,
Alex
