Recently found out because my heat stopped working that I needed a new actuator in my vehicle. I took out the dashboard and remove the actuator and ordered a new one. Installing the new one today and when I plug it in the air conditioning in the front stopped working completely and the console lights turn off. Also, the back vents work really well.

Once I unplug the new actuator the lights come back on. The lights come back on the console the front vents start to work and then the back ones turn off.

The AutoZone group did not know what the deal was. Any ideas?

Ok which actuator are you changing and is this an LX, EX or EX-L model? When you say your heat stopped working, how?

My first hunch is that you have the wrong actuator or that the control unit is faulty but the LX uses different parts than the EX. Should be able to look farther with that info.
