Code P1312 is the fuel regulator replacement. How do I find the fuse or relay to disconnect before replacing this piece? And what are the steps to replacing this piece?

Hi,

The code you have isn't related to the fuel pressure regulator. Take a look at pics 1 and 2 below.

As far as the fuel pressure regulator, I attached the directions below for removal and replacement starting with pic 3.

If you look at the last pic, it shows the main fuse box in front of the battery. According to the manual, it's fuse 2.

Also, I read through the directions for regulator replacement and there is a typo. It says to lower oil pressure, remove the fuse. I believe they meant to lower fuse pressure.

Once the fuse is removed, start the engine and within a very short time, it will stall due to lack of fuel. Turn the key off and proceed with the directions.

I hope this helps. Let me know how things turn out or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

I read through this several times until I remembered, you have another post. As far as the spark plugs, they could certainly need to be replaced. If I recall, you asked about spark plugs in your other post.

Let's do this. Your heading on this post asks about a fuel pressure regulator, but the code you provided is related to the spark plugs. The other post asks a different question with a different code. Can you supply all the codes for me?

The code P1312 can be a result of the faulty fuel pressure regulator, but I need the other code.

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

If those two are the only codes, continue with what you planned. If, however, you could let me know what the fuel pressure is, I should be able to tell you if it is related to the regulator or a weak pump. Here is a link that explains how to test pressure:

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
