Code P07A3 means the internal "A" friction element inside the transmission is stuck "on".

The clutch mechanical DTCs P286F, P287A, P2872, P2877 could be an indication that one or both of the clutches is binding or partially stuck. If any electrical clutch DTCs are set, they should be resolved first before proceeding with this pinpoint test.

Vehicle owner had extended warranty through Ford, so it was sublet to them. They inspected and determined the issue to be internal to the transmission and replaced it.

I would try to change the transmission fluid out and clear the codes. here is a guide to help walk you through the steps with instructions for your car in the images below:

Fluid Types

Automatic Transmission Fluid

Ford Part Name

- Motorcraft Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid*

Ford Part Number

- XT-11-QDC

* Automatic transmissions that require Motorcraft Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid should only use Motorcraft Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid. Refer to scheduled maintenance to determine the correct service interval. Use of any fluid other than the recommended fluid may cause transmission damage.
Capacities

Automatic Transaxle .................... 1.9 quarts (1.8 liters)*

* Approximate dry fill capacity. Actual amount may vary during fluid changes.

Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

another code popped up P0131 o2 sensor. none of the codes from above. i took the car in for diagnosis and 02 sensor problem was solved. The mechanic cleaned the sensor, but he could not pinpoint the transmission problem. He said he would have to drop the transmission and see what he finds ... that will be 1200. i was surprised that he did not do a test drive to see how the car was acting while driving it. i asked him if it was okay to drive and that is how i know he did not drive it because he said he did not know. but he thinks it is a clutch in the transmission i was charged 140.00 for each diagnosis (280.00) the codes are gone but he said they could come back. the car is running better but still has jerky take off. I asked about the transmission fluid being changed and he said because it is a sealed transmission, he would have to do that when he drops the transmission. Thank you, Wanda

It is not sealed transmission so he is wrong about that, you can see in the instructions below how to change the fluid out, but since he cleared the codes let's see if the code comes back, you might get lucky and it will be okay. maybe the cold had something to do with it.

Those are reading for the scan and don't really say much just a bunch of values, I would still service the transmission and clear the codes before replacing the transmission which is where they are headed.

what is the A that was tested and are the volts at normal range. Also, should the testing show a reading of the 02 sensor? hope that a mechanic can help.

Yes, but the O2 sensor does not affect the transmission. Please let me know what happens.
