Hi,

On a Mini, the P1909 is a transmission temperature code. The code, more specifically, is tied into the CAN system. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all the different modules/computers are tied together via a few wires. However, it is not related to this model year vehicle. Are you sure the code is correct? Are you having transmission issues?

Let me know.

Hi,

Interesting. That isn't listed as a possibility for this vehicle. I found a "gearbox oil temp sensor" in an exploded view of the transmission, but that was it. I realize that could be the same being called something different. Likely it is. However, the code doesn't exist. LOL

Let me know. I'm really interested in knowing.

Take care,

Joe
