Cluster issues

Okay, so I bought this car and the speedometer does not work nor does cruise control or my miles per gallon or my miles. When I went to put my key in the car today and the miles showed up and the miles per gallon, but when I started my car it all went back off. I am lost for words. A lot of people are telling me so many different things. Please help!

Good afternoon,

Are there any codes set? This sounds like it could be the vehicle speed sensor. If it is, there should be a code. Without that signal, it would explain all the issues.

As far as the items lighting up with the key on, that is a self test on the cluster. That is normal.
