After driving and parked my vehicle. I hear a loud clunk noise coming from the rear and smell burning rubber.
Just want to know possible causes.
Thank you.

I forgot to attach the video in my original post. And I only hear the sound after I park and turn my vehicle off. And makes that sound for couple of minutes before going away.

That is the exhaust cooling down but it should not be that loud. Sounds like it has a defective baffle or something else loose in the exhaust. It is not uncommon for them to click when they are cooling down but that loud clunk is not right.

As for the smell, the exhaust will burn/cook off a chemical that is on the pipes and in the converter so I would think that is normal. This is a distinct smell and can be mistaken for rubber so this would not be an issue by itself. However, paired with that noise, I would suggest taking it back to the dealer since this is a brand new vehicle.

Again, based on this I would have it checked out just because this is under warranty and brand new but that noise is coming from the exhaust. Basically as it cools down the metal contracts and it will make these noises but that is too loud to be normal in my opinion.

Let us know what questions you have. Thanks

The sound is actually a normal characteristics of the vehicle. There is a bulletin to replace the muffler to minimize the sound only.
